Your notes never leave your Mac

Copper saves your notes to a file on your Mac. That file is the only copy.

There's no account to create, nothing syncs, and there's no server holding your notes. I never see them, and I couldn't hand them to anyone who asked.

Copper doesn't track you

No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reports, no usage data. Copper doesn't report what you capture, how often you use it, or that you're using it at all.

Checking for updates

Copper asks my server whether a newer version exists, and downloads it if there is one.

That request carries no note content and nothing that identifies you. It looks like any other request for a file on the web: the host sees an IP address and which version you asked about.

When you buy Copper

Lemon Squeezy sells Copper on my behalf. They handle your payment and any tax details, so I never see your card number.

When you run the install command, your license key is sent to Lemon Squeezy to activate the license.

If you email me

I use whatever you tell me to answer you, and nothing else. You won't end up on a mailing list.

This site

shadcn.com uses Vercel Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you.
